cc_berlin is a grassroots organisation active since 2012, working in close collaboration with communities in Berlin and beyond. Through the exchange of knowledge and shared practice, we support sustainable, self-organised initiatives rooted in the collective experience of our members.

We are committed to resilience, self-sufficiency, and community empowerment. We work across generations and cultures — preserving what communities already know, and building the structures they still need.

social program

Our goal is to improve living conditions in rural and urban communities by strengthening sustainable self-governance across social, cultural, economic, and ecological areas. We take holistic approaches to deepening the relationship between people and nature. Central to this is supporting the self-sufficiency of local regions, and encouraging indigenous and rural communities to develop on their own terms, in ways that honour their identity and traditions.

cultural projects

EAT the Walls is a cultural programme that hosts exhibitions by artists, activists, musicians, designers, and thinkers exploring themes of territory, community, and tradition.

Research

Our research sits at the intersection of public space, community knowledge, and the structures that shape how people live. We investigate how existing resources — material, social, and spatial — can be organised differently, and what that means in practice for the communities involved.
